This combination is a Burnt Boxwood Chess Set with a Black Gloss Chess Board.
It comprises:
- Burnt Boxwood Chessmen 101mm (4″) King. 34 pieces. Set is Extra Weighted, Felt Based and 2 extra Queens. Set is handcrafted from solid Boxwood – Burnt Boxwood for the Dark Chessmen and Natural Boxwood for the Lighter Chessmen. To create the darkened chessmen, the pieces are burned followed by final carving and design work. This technique creates a beautiful contrast between the blackened areas and the natural boxwood colour underneath. The pieces then have a final polish.
- Black Gloss Deluxe Board 55mm Squares. Board measures 550 x 550mm. Black Dyed Poplar Border with Black Dyed Poplar and light Maple Deluxe Squares finished in a Gloss Lacquer. A very modern board.
